Meet the Arizona WordPress Group

About Us

Over the past decade we’ve gathered all over Greater Phoenix a few times a month to share our knowledge, level-up and learn together.

Some Arizona WordPress Group members at WordCamp US 2018 in Nashville, TN.

We’re the Arizona WordPress Meetup, an independent group of diverse WordPress users and professionals who meet regularly to learn, network and discuss web marketing, design, development and business.

Our volunteer-run community is sponsored by local and WordPress-focused companies who donate resources and financial support.

Who We Are

We’re a locally-organized group of people, each with diverse skills and backgrounds; participating and volunteering in the greater WordPress community.

We value kindness, collaboration and helpful, can-do attitudes. We celebrate each other’s accomplishments and thrive on learning from each other as professionals and individuals.

What to Expect

We’re a diverse, inclusive community

Never attended one of our in-person gatherings? Here are some of the things you can expect when you attend one of our events.

On Hiring, Sales Pitches and Recruitment

Our events are primarily for education and community value and don’t include time for hiring, direct sales pitches or recruitment (that said, many in our group have found work, connections and partners).

We encourage attendees to mention their business and open positions during introductions and announcements, but reserve details for networking time before and after the main event.

Our online Slack community features a #looking-for-work channel to post contract and employment opportunities and a #share-it channel where we welcome people and companies to share useful tools, important news and big wins they’re proud of.

Our Code of Conduct

We have a pretty sensible, simple set of rules for the safety and enjoyment of our in-person and online communities.

Release from Liability

In consideration of the risk to injury while participating in our events and online communities, and as consideration for the right to participate, each participant agrees to abide by the Code of Conduct and organizer instructions. By attending events or participating online, each participant agrees and recognizes they’re participating entirely at their own risk, which may include but are not limited to physical or psychological injury, pain, suffering, illness, disfigurement, disability, economic or emotional loss and death. Each participant agrees to waive any right to bring legal action against organizers, venues, community sponsors and volunteers or hold them financially responsible for personal injury or property damage.
