Navigating Theme Files – Justin

Actual Template Files:

-display data

-style files (style.css)

-functional files (index.php) ???Correct???

We really only need the latter two.

Index file can be split into 3 parts:

àHeader

àSidebar

àFooter

“sidebar” can actually be located anywhere on your page.

Template Tags-provide a way for WP to get info from another place or to do something.

àGeneral

àAuthor

àBookmark

àCategories

è Many more!

Languages & Page templates folder are the two that are recognized by default.

Questions:

1-     2 different languages, same site; different blog posts for each language without decreasing SEO?  2 separate URLs are best for keeping both sites with highest SEO and Betsy said there are tools for minimizing multi-site management.

IDEA SWAP:

-Plugins should be updated; red flag if they haven’t been updated.

-Advantage to paying for premium version of theme? It depends….
