With all the other great WordPress Meetups, there is lots of fantastic content (which you should check out on the website), so here is what you can expect from our meetups…

Our focus is to help beginners to power-users with:

• Fast/Convenient/Easy ways to work with WordPress (and still do it right)
• What to do once you have a site (i.e. how to get people to your site, a.k.a. marketing)

Of course, we are here to help you get all your WordPress questions answered too.

Meeting Agenda

6:30pm

6:50pm
Open Forum — This is the time to ask your questions, share a new favorite tool/plugin/website, blog or twitter feed you follow or tell us about an upcoming event

7:10pm
SEO – from Justin Blake of Rising Phoenix SEO

7:50pm
eCommerce Season Round Table Discussion

For sites participating in peak holiday season:
1) Check your site speed to make sure impatient shoppers can get to your site
2) Test your main pages, purchase paths and forms before running promos
3) Create a promotion plan, the closer to the holiday, the more inbox competition there will be
4) Consider the WIIFM (What’s In It For Me) factor for everything you send – this is always important, but it is critical when the “noise” is at it’s highest

For sites not participating in the peak holiday season:
1) Recognize that your audience will be inundated with consumer messages
2) Consider any unique end-of-the-year aspects that are relevant to your audience
3) Re-assess any paid traffic plans as the cost will be higher to try to reach your audience

8:30pm
General networking, chit-chatting, cleanup, and head out.

Elevate closes at 9PM, so we usually head over to a local restaurant for some snacks, beverages (adult and otherwise) and more great conversation.
